Vitamix A2500 Review
The Vitamix A2500 Ascent Series Smart Blender boasts a sleek design and new technology to take your smoothie making to the next level. It has a 2.2 HP motor and BPA free plastic containers. It also comes with a whopping 10-year warranty.
Courtesy of its WIFI connectivity feature, the base of the blender has an electronic tag that’s able to detect the size of the container attached. This self-detect technology automatically adjusts program settings and timing once it identifies the size of the container.
Design and Features
The A2500 has a new and improved sleek design compared to older Vitamix models. The 64 oz container is smartly designed to effectively blend single or multiple servings of ingredients. Whatever your desired serving size, you’ll be getting a smooth consistency. There are markings on the containers to guide your measurements by millimeter, ounce, and cup. It also has 10 variable speed controls.
The most impressive new design of this smart blender is the clear lid. Those days of not being able to see inside the container during the blending process are in the past. I really love this new see-through feature because it allows you to monitor results when blending.
Pre-programmed Settings and Timer
The three pre-programmed settings on the A2500 are Smoothies, Soup, and Frozen dessert. This makes for an easy and convenient blending process to get the best results.
Vitamix A3500 Review
The Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series Smart Blender is Vitamix’s most advanced blender. It’s an exceptional appliance with touch screen controls and a programmable built-in timer. Like the A2500, it comes with a 2.2 HP motor and BPA free plastic containers, WIFI connectivity, and a 10-year warranty.
Design and Features
It’s a great looking blender with all the design features of the A2500. This includes a BPA free 64 oz container that’s dishwasher safe and a clear lid for visibility. The see-through lid comes with snaps that clicks when the container is locked. There’s also a digital knob that controls variable speed settings ranging from 1-10. Once blending has stopped, it automatically resets to 1, which is a super handy feature if you are prone to leaving the blender at its maximum setting after blending.
This blender has 5 pre-programmed settings, a vast improvement over the Vitamix A2500, which only has 3. In addition to smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soups, there are programmed settings for dips & spreads, and self-cleaning. Simply use the touch screen controls to choose your desired program setting for convenient and quality results.
This model comes with the Vitamix app and Bluetooth technology to your smartphone or app. This feature is also enabled on the A2500. Using the app gives you additional presets for baby food, nut butter, dry chopping, salad dressings, spice grinding, and much more.
For those who want a more customized process, the A3500 comes with a built-in programmable timer so you can manually set a timer when creating your favorite meals. The timer automatically shuts off the blender when the time is up.
Vitamix A2500 Vs A3500: Main Differences
More Preset Options
There are more preset blending settings – a total of five, on the A3500. In addition to the smoothie, frozen dessert, and hot soup settings on the A2500, the A3500 comes with dips & spreads, as well as a self-cleaning option. If you are someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen making a variety of meals, you may find the extra presets useful.
Touch Screen Controls
The 5 preset options are operated by touch screen controls versus the A2500 that uses a dial to select presets and adjust speed. The touch controls come with an icon for each blending option. If you like convenience, then you will love the touch screen controls, and the additional preset controls the A3500 offers. However, if you don’t mind using manual settings and find the additional presets a bit too much, the A2500 is perfect for you.
Built-in Programmed Timer
Though both Vitamix blenders have a timer display, the built-in programmed timer on the A3500 ensures the blender turns off as soon as a blending task is done. This feature prevents under or over-processing of ingredients. The timer is also operated by a touch screen and gives you the leverage to manually input a specific blending time.
Vitamix A2500 vs A3500: Final Thoughts
The new and improved Ascent Series from Vitamix is just what you would expect high-end blenders to look like with the sleek design and new technology features. The Vitamix A2500 and the Vitamix A3500 are two excellent choices if you’re in the market for a smart blender. They are both equal to the task of producing high-quality results when blending, chopping, mixing, or grinding. But which one should you go with?
The 3500 has a slight edge because of its more advanced features — 5 presets options, built-in programmed timer, and touch screen controls. For those who prefer the ease of use and convenience when blending, you will love this blender. Though pricier than the A2500, I think it’s worth the additional cost to get the convenience you love.
