The 3 Kitchen Items That You Need To Spend Money On

There is a lot of money that you could spend on kitchen gadgets. Unfortunately, many of them are overpriced and meant to rope you into buying them even though they are not as useful as you had imagined. Usually, they’re the products you see advertised on late-night TV.

There are some kitchen items that are absolutely worth the money and deserve a higher budget. These are tools that will help you cook better and you will get a lot of use out of them.

Items that will last a long time and be indispensable tools in your arsenal. In this article, we will go over some of the items that you should spend more money on.

1 – A chef’s knife

A good knife is going to make your life in the kitchen much easier. When you have a good one, it acts like an extension of your arm and you’ll never want to use a cheap knife again.

They are good because they have the right weight, balance, and edge to be able to make cutting and chopping much easier.

Look for ones made with carbon steel since they are easy to sharpen with a knife sharpener and will stay sharp for longer compared to cheaper materials. As long as you maintain it and sharpen it when needed then this knife will last you a lifetime.

Even though you are paying more for a knife than you normally would, you will save money in the long run. Since you won’t be buying new knives regularly, the expensive knife will pay for itself over time.

2 – Stand mixer

A stand mixer is sometimes a gift that people get at weddings that end up in the back of a closet. It’s a shame when people don’t understand the potential that a stand mixer has to level up their cooking game. Some people are hesitant to buy them because of the cost.

Although they are expensive they have so many functions that you will get a lot of use out of one. For instance, bakers use them quite a bit since they are great at making batters. Even bread bakers use them since kneading bread dough is much easier with a stand mixer.

Then there are attachments that are useful such as a meat grinder, ice cream machine, or vegetable slicer.

3 – Cast iron

A good quality cast iron pan or enamel-coated Dutch oven is much more expensive than your typical nonstick pan or aluminum pot.

The thing is, when you own them and take care of them they can end up being heirlooms that get passed down through the generations.

They also cook exceptionally well since they transfer heat well and also retain heat for a more even cooking process.

They work great for frying and once you develop a patina then they even become non-stick. They are much more versatile than you think and are not as fussy to maintain as people suggest.
