Ninja BL492 Review: Powerful & Inexpensive Blender

ninja bl492 reviewThere are hundreds of blender brands out there. However, not many brands have managed to become a household name in the United States. But if I were to mention some of the most popular blender brands right now, I am pretty sure that Ninja will be up there.

They have provided us with some fantastic blenders such as Ninja duo, Ninja BL642, and many others. Since there are lots of Ninja blender designs, sometimes choosing the right one for you can be tricky. You will need to do some research about the blender before deciding to go for it.

Luckily, I have researched for you. I have reviewed several Ninja blenders, and from them, you can know if a blender has what it takes to impress you. Today, the blender that is on the spot is the Ninja BL492. I have done my research, and here is what you need to know about this blender.

Ninja BL492 Review: Overview

Ninja BL492 is a relatively new blender. It comes with a powerful motor that is capable of performing basic blending options plus more. It comes with a large selection of containers plus a light food processor.

The BL492 is a versatile blender that anyone should be happy to own, considering that it comes at a very affordable price. You can use BL492 to make smoothies, and from what I gathered, it makes some excellent smoothies.

You can also use it to make whole juice. That’s not all; the BL492 is pretty good when it comes to crushing ice and frozen fruits without even needing to add any liquid. This means you can make frozen yogurt, ice cream, and other frozen desserts with your blender.

The Functionality Of The Blender

The Ninja BL492 also allows pureeing raw and cooked veggies and fruits. It is quite good, and you can easily make baby food, mash potato, pesto, and hummus with it. However, the blender does not come with a tamper. Also, please note that the single-serve attachment is not very good for pureeing.

Use your blender to perfectly chop vegetables for salad mixes, salsa, or marinades. It is pretty good at shredding grated crumbs, cheese, and chop nuts. However, make sure not to use your blender for hot soup or other hot ingredients. It is not designed for it.

I found that the blender makes decent nut milk. However, for the best quality of the same, please use a bag in order to strain the processed milk. Yes, you can make nut butter with your blender with it, but it isn’t that decent. Most mixers require a tamper to make good nut butter, which the BL492 does not have.

On the other hand, the blender is quite good at making batter/dough. It comes with a dough hook that functions exceptionally, and it’s quite impressive when it comes to kneading. Also, the blender can grind and make decent flour from seeds such as flaxes, oat, and chia seeds. However, it struggles with tough seeds.

Overall, the BL492 is a pretty versatile blender, and its functionality is pretty impressive.

Ninja BL492: Features

The Ninja BL492 blender comes with some fantastic features, and I think it certainly has something to boast for. It is a bit different from the Ninja blenders we are used to, which I think is a good thing. Here are some of its features:

  • High-performance from its strong blades. The blades are capable of powering through frozen ingredients and ice as well
  • Stainless steel blades
  • Six-speed motor
  • 40 oz capacity
  • Comes with a printed book that has over 75 recipes
  • Comes with a one-year warranty
  • Lightweight, which means you can move with your blender from one place to another hassle-free.

Ease of Use and Cleaning

No one wants to buy a blender that will give him stress with usage. We all want one that we can use with ease without even needing to keep following the user manual. We also want a blender that we can clean easily.

Well, it turns out that the BL492 is easy to use, and assembling it is quite easy once you purchase it. The user guide it comes with is easy to understand for most people, although some still find it kind of complicated.

What’s more, the BL492 blender is not hard to clean, and most of it is dishwasher safe. The single-serve cups, 40, and 48 oz containers are dishwasher safe. However, you will need to wash the Sip and Seal lid and stainless steel cups with your hands.

Also, if you blend stubborn or thick ingredients, you might want to apply the self-cleaning procedure. Add a few drops of detergent in a container then run it for one minute before rinsing and drying it.

What People Love the Most about the BL492

This Ninja blender may have its flaws like the fact that it is quite noisy, needs some space for storage, and it comes with so much packaging material, but it has lots of advantages. Look at some of the things that most people love about this blender:

  • Comes with a selection of serve-cups which are handy if you are making drinks to for an outing
  • A versatile mixer that can perform several functions in the kitchen
  • Most people love its stainless steel single-serve containers
  • The strong blades that crush ice to precision are also highly acclaimed
  • It is quite a powerful blender
  • Easy to use

Ninja BL492 Review: Final Thoughts

Ninja has provided us with some fantastic blenders in the past, and the Ninja BL492 is no different. It comes with an awesome single serve attachment that makes some quality drinks.

However, it also has some weaknesses like the fact that its life expectancy is just moderate. It is not as durable as high-end blenders such as Vitamix, Blendtec, or even some other Ninja models. It is still a blender that I still highly recommend, though. It gets the job done, and it’s quite versatile. For the time you will be with it, I am sure it will serve you well.

You can get the blender from the online stores, and it will be shipped to you ASAP if you are in the US. It also ships in Canada. Get yourself one today, and you won’t regret your decision.
